Conjunctions are the small words that link parts of sentences (clauses).
Using conjunctions helps build longer sentences, making one’s writing look more intelligent. Using a variety of conjunctions is an important part of making any writing interesting, not only IELTS examinations.
A note on different conjunctions
Conjunctions can be technically divided into two groups: coordinating and subordinating.
Coordinating conjunctions link two independent clauses (clauses that could be a sentence). Subordinating conjunctions link a dependent clause (a clause that cannot be a sentence) to the sentence.
