The Present Continuous Tense
The present continuous is used for things happening now.
Making The Present Tense
To make the present continuous, use the verb ‘be’ + ‘ing’.
Remember the verb ‘be’ changes for different subjects:
He / She / It is
You / We / They / Some / Many are
I am running
She is eating
They are going
Present Tense vs. Present Continuous
The present tense is not used for things happening right now. It is used for things that are true at the moment.
I go to school on Monday. (true)
I am going to school. (now)
I like beef. (true)
I am eating beef. (now)
Use these pronouns and verbs to make the present continuous:
Example: I + drink I am drinking
You + think
She + play
Some + sleep
We + study
