Sentences in the present tense can use the passive voice

The Present Tense

(am/is/like/go/do…) something

This company buys old cars, then sells them on.

The Passive Voice

The passive voice is formed by:
be (in the correct tense) + p.p.

In the present tense, this is:
am/is/are + p.p.

Old cars are bought by this company, then sold on.

Sentences in the present tense using the passive voice

(active) I tidy the house every evening
(passive) The house is tidied every evening

(active) He sells a house every week
(passive) A house is sold by him every week.

Exercises

1. Change these sentences into the passive voice:
(i) Someone cuts my hair every two weeks.
(ii) The dog barks at the postman every morning.
(iii) The motor turns the wheels at 100 revolutions per second.

2. Change these sentences out of the passive voice:
